Here we are one-step closer to the Holidays....we don't want to alarm anyone but they are really just around the corner! As you can see above our incredible team of Tibetan jewelers are working up a storm with our wholesale orders for the Holiday period, we wish all our retailers both large & small have a very successful season, we also hope that we can bring you some great inexpensive gifts these Holidays both online & in the boutique. Stones & metals for this coming festive season include; malachite, bandit agate, pearl, onyx, gunmetal & gold vermeil....see above for a couple of boutique styles from the Holiday collection now in store, if either appeal do contact Kelly & she can help you out with purchasing or queries, 212 260 5298, firstname.lastname@example.org. It's always good to check that they haven't been sold before visiting....the necklace above is a stunner, Erin our wholesale queen has been wandering around the studio wearing this piece for a week now & we must say she looks great in it! it is a rough chunky cut bandit agate with lovely marbled surface, hand-beaded & featuring a vintage green glass pendant, beautiful statement piece! This is $245. The circle earrings below this are cute, square malachite beads with gold vermeil hoops, very sweet wearable earrings if you love a touch of green, these are $105, both styles available through the boutique!
As we have mentioned in the last week or so, our Cheap Chic group is soon to be changed! This has been one of our most successful groups ever online (& in the store!), excellent pricepoints for quality jewelry pretty much always works! So far we have used fairly summery tones, this season was all about light blue, turquoise, pale pink, white....for this next group we will be mixing it up for the colder temperatures, Wendy is designing a fabulous bunch of new styles in garnet, carnelian, orange cz, black cz, crystal, labradorite, green onyx.....& few more! We think you will love this new Cheap Chic, we will make sure to include classics such as the simple beaded hoops (that everyone seems to really love) plus a bunch of cute, charm necklaces & bracelets, perfect for gifting! Please make sure to purchase the current Cheap Chic while you can, we expect to do a switcheroo very early November. As well as designing this new Cheap Chic group, Wendy is also working on Spring '10, a little scary to be looking so far ahead but looks like fun so far with some great pink, purple, yellow & blue stones floating about the studio! If the magazines are anything to go by it's all bright colors & big, big, BIG next Spring, we like big!
Who doesn't love a ring! these are so new they are not yet in the boutique (but will be shortly!), gorgeous semi precious set rings handmade in India, featuring; lemon quartz, rose quartz & blue topaz....these are very beautiful pastel rings & the organic shape adds a unique quality. An added bonus is that they are sterling with a gold polish so perfect for allergy sufferers, a great quality ring! If you are interested in these rings definitely give Kelly a call to make sure they are in the store, they should be very soon, we would give you the price but they are so hot off the press we do not have one just yet!
We will leave you this week with some blog deals! We know how popular the 'shop samples' group is online & we do want to make this a feature every now & then, we just need some time to gather some great deals for you but in the meantime here is a couple to keep you busy! If you would like any of these styles please email our retail department on: email@example.com, remember these are one-off's but if you are late to see them we will do our best to accommodate you!

We recently had a slightly different key chain in the shop samples group and we sold it 5 times over, ladies love their keys! We do have some larger chunky turquoise pieces also, if you are a larger jewelry person then definitely contact the store also as we can send images of what we have at these discounted prices, it is helpful for you to be rather specific however as our store is rather full of styles!
Here are some great store pieces, not on sale but fabulous all the same! These new cut-outs are from Wendy's brand new collection & we can't keep them in the store long enough, we think they are so popular for a number of reasons! Gold & mixed metals are so wearable, non-season related & chunky enough to be noticeable without being too much....these earrings & pendants are also VERY well priced, hovering around $60 it's a great price for a personal treat or a gift. Some of the featured shapes include; birds & birdcages, flowers, bows & ornate hoops, please contact the store for a closer view or specific prices.
Fall has arrived also in our store windows, Kelly has placed a whole bunch of our recent vintage additions alongside some of the current mixed metals & it looks fabulous! As we have said before the vintage is so popular, it does make a great gift being one of a kind & there are a whole range of prices.....Above are 2 great pieces for the Holiday season, a layered beaded piece, you can not see it here but it has an amazing red rhinestone clasp! the pendant in this image is straight from the 70's, for this great costume piece the only thing you will need to complete the outfit is a caftan & martini in one hand!....call the store to enquiry about these pieces & to maybe view other vintage finds!
Lastly we bring you three cute store styles (these are not on sale) you might be interested in...a simple ruby drop on a delicate chain, such a simple piece & a huge ruby drop! below this is a handmade bird pendant, with hammered 22k matte gold vermeil, a piece for bird lovers....the lower piece here is a stunning beaded chain with hammered teardrops & a myriad of semi-precious drops including; ruby, smoky, labradorite, rhudilated quartz...this is rather gorgeous! Email for prices, lengths etc of the above to: email@example.com.
Well we hope you enjoy the styles in this week's post, stay in touch for more good deals this month & bear in mind styles online will be changing in a couple of week's or so, particularly the Cheap Chic so pop them in your cart while you can....
Till next week, The Mink Team.
October 8, 2009
Let's start by singing a round of Happy Birthday to Ms Mink, we wish YOU many happy returns, we hope the following year is one of the best yet! This week in the blog we bring you some Vintage gems from our boutique, if there's one thing that our birthday girl loves it's Vintage jewelry. Wendy has been collecting for many years & has amassed a very enviable collection which never fails to inspire everyone in the company! Recently Vintage jewelry has become very popular in the fashion world & we have plenty of fun filling up our jewelry cases in the boutique with GREAT pieces at all kinds of pricepoints for those ladies who prefer to buy something one of a kind & with a little history....these pieces sell very well alongside Wendy's own line & add a fun section to our store that will keep you entertained for a very long time...so here we go with some of the pieces we currently have, all of these can be purchased via email, please email the boutique directly to purchase or enquire about anything featured in today's blog, the address is: firstname.lastname@example.org & the phone number is 212 260 5298. Ok here we go.....
First up is a beautiful Victorian Revival pin with added antique gold pin & chain, this can be worn as both, a deep royal blue makes this a very fine choice for Fall-Winter, this piece is quite something. Please note the piece is base-metal & 'Revival' not Victorian, these pieces were made throughout the beginning of the 20th Century & we come across some great pieces like this now & again...length of chain is: 20", pendant across is 3" & length of pendant with tassel is 3.5". This beauty is $120, as we mentioned above please email our boutique to place your order. It's one of a kind!
GORGEOUSNESS! Rhinestones in pale green, blue, pink & purple with pearls & all set in gold-tone links, a little bit Mad Men & a little bit old Hollywood! Very beautiful bracelet, perfect for a Holiday party or 3! This great piece is 7" & features handy safety chain to avoid mishap....chunky, solid & all in all quite wonderful.....and yours for $250.
Pins! Now that jackets & coats have been hauled out of the closet it's time to liven them up, we know pins are not as popular these days but they really are a great thing to pop on, so much more noticeable than you would expect & can make a seasons old coat look just little bit fresher...here we have some highly collectible Norwegian examples as well as some more costume inexpensive....the butterflies are the highly collectible here, both signed & hail from first half of the 20th century, made with enamel & almost metallic in their finish, very sweet! Both butterflies measure just under 2" across, they are $140 each & are sterling! below this is a fabulous costume snake with an enamel black pattern & rhinestones, he's very cute! Measures 4" & is yours for $50. To the left we have a very detailed Victorian cameo, in a rose gold vermeil finish & measuring a delicate 1" across, you could add a chain also as would make sweet pendant! This is $120. Lastly we have a perfectly Fall-like leaf branch in matte gold tone finish, do up a cardigan or pop it on a jacket, this is just $30! As above email our boutique for more details or to purchase.
This piece would do well in any fashion spread out now, we are seeing so much of these layered ethnic looks & it is harder to come by pieces such as this with authentic antique finishes & beads! This is a very collectible bib style, features real coral (another near- extinct thing to find!) & handmade antique-y finish filigree in a traditional Indian style, this measures 18" & pendants extend n additional 2", wear it winter or summer....$260.
Two pendants....let's talk about the heart first. This is not signed so we do not believe it is sterling, it is also not a locket but rather a nice solid heavy heart! It features a lovely rusty tone crushed sparkly stone in the center & comes with oxidized 30" chain, heart itself is an inch in length, just $50! The Victorian gold-tone locket is wonderful, opens up to display two sides for pictures! Comes with a lovely sliding feature & very long chain for wrapping around or swinging it long....52" in total length, $250, great for layering & keepsake photos!
Who doesn't love an elephant? Let alone 3 of them! Very cute ethnic necklace with carved resin elephants & beads, light to wear, also features a great filigree detail on the large elephant pendant, we are unsure exactly when & where this fab vintage find comes from but when it's so adorable is it so important! Measures 25" & yours for just $65. Layer it with more ethnic beads & you'll be more boho than.....someone from boho?
We hope you enjoy these vintage baubles, we have many fabulous pieces in the boutique so please do not hesitate to contact Kelly & Brookes regarding any pieces above or if you have a particular style you are interested in collecting, we can always send you images. Enjoy the rest of your week & if you have queries regarding anything on our website, email Amy on email@example.com. Till next time.....
October 1, 2009
Well October is here, we would say finally but it feels a little like it was just February, it seems the most challenging financial year has also been the quickest, we suppose that's one small bonus! The title for this week's post does not make much grammatical sense but we wanted to chat this week about 2 great things; statement jewelry & SELF magazine, the new issue on newstands now has two wonderful WMJ pieces inside, see these above. Lucky Carolyn, a very regular boutique customer snapped up the necklace last time she was in, well done Carolyn, you are ahead of the game, we bet it looked just great with that dress! The piece is a wonderful layered mix of coral resin with one bright cobalt bead for emphasis, this is one bright statement piece & we are more than happy to make you one of your very own! To order or enquire about this fab necklace, email kelly & Brookes at the store on firstname.lastname@example.org, it's a perfect piece to wake up those darker Fall outfits...the next piece featured is the handmade hammered gold cuff, gorgeous! another statement piece in a matte gold that looks super luxe, it's somewhere between classic & ethnic, these cuffs are $175 & 22k gold vermeil, to receive 20% off just email email@example.com with your details & we'll take care of it! Thanks to SELF for supporting us & making the jewelry look so fabulous, now we should really pay attention to the rest of the issue as it will inspire better eating habits & rigid exercise regimes....or at least inspire us to think about it.
So, here are some more statement pieces below, don't be afraid to go BIG, all the magazines are featuring statement pieces for the Holiday season (yikes now that is close!), you'll be amazed how many compliments you get on a big piece of jewelry, people on the street....the subway...co-workers....if you do decide to add a statement piece or two to your wardrobe we suggest choosing pieces that go with a few outfits both winter & summer, that means you'll get maximum wear & it won't sit around on your dresser with that piece you were given last Holidays by a distant relative.....here are some great pieces to get you started in very wearable tones & slightly discounted prices for our bloggers, to order any of the pieces below email your details to firstname.lastname@example.org.
