  4. The heat has given this Kansas girl an excuse to visit her favorite friends and family in the "cooler" states of Michigan, Wisconsin & Minnesota. What a wonderful reason to see the ones I love and catch a little break from the extreme temperatures we have been experiencing.

    Stay Cool!

  5. You know, I am not so much trying to escape the heat but appreciate it after the winter the northeast just had (Bostonian here)! So, I and the family are making the most of the longer days and being able to run out of the house in short sleeves and sandals and hitting the town at a moment's notice! (Sure beats shoveling!) :-)

  8. Living in Colorado, usually we have really nice summers, although lately it's been hot and surprisingly humid out.
In a week I'll be going up to Steamboat Springs CO with my best friend,to cool off in some hot springs for a few days- well, maybe they'll have some 'cold springs'? But it'll be much cooler in the mountains.
The gold necklace would be nice a present for my bff who I haven't seen in ages since moving out west.

  13. I'm a Southern girl, so I know all about oppressive summer heat and humidity.

I beat the heat by dipping in the ocean as much as possible, wearing breezy dresses, and freezing fruit like berries and banana slices for a cool treat. An icy cold mojito never hurts, either!
