Big & Bright

In honor of the sunny skies we have had in NYC lately, we added some brighter than bright bold statement pieces to our boutique windows. We went for colorful, chunky pieces that would be perfect to match neon craze and the oh-so-close start to summer. We are loving the neon resin pieces in Wendy's line, especially when mixed with multi colored crocheted balls from Peru! And our white-hot vintage baubles were the perfect contrast to our new brights. We love how it almost looks like a neon white! 

Aside from the gorgeous jewels, the best part about these windows are the fun tape designs done by the gals in the store- with the help of some gorgeous and playful tape from a shop called Tophat, just around the corner from our boutique. Just like the tape jazzes up some ordinary white tables, the jewelry in the window would be perfect to spruce up a white dress or jeans and sandals in the summer- don't you think so?

This season Wendy Mink Jewelry traveled to the Peruvian countryside and back to the many beaches of the world gathering great material for our new collection!

From the artisans of the land to the many beach lovers of summer get inspired with some brilliant, fun, and eclectic original pieces for your many great adventures this summer! So turn that cubical on the 27th floor into an oasis of paradise with some help from Wendy Mink Jewelry and maybe that next big bonus can go to the waterfront house on the beach!

Beautiful handwoven fabric that is symbolic of the Peruvian culture! We especially love the fedora with the touch of nature and the gorgeous patterns!

Traditional technique of hand crochet, an art form that has been passed down through generations! Not a bad way to spend the day! A sneak peak at some embellishments used in the collection!

Nothing like a romantic sunset to set the palate for any artist! Great source of inspiration with the natural combination of warm hues!

Fresh blooms

This week finally feels like spring is here! At the boutique we changed up our windows to go with the warm weather and sunny days. We all agreed our favorite flowers were hyacinths- due to their wonderful smell, and we thought the mix of pink and green vases would get us all in spring mode. We added some rose quartz jewelry to the window to match the tulips, and we love how the fun and extravagant bright vintage jewelry stands out to all who walk by.

If you are in NYC, be sure to come by the store- when you first walk in past the window displays the floral smell is beautiful!

We are counting down the hours until the weekend! To get your mind off these final long hours of work today, we have some gorgeous pieces of jewelry for you to check out!

We love animal jewelry over here, the more birds, turtles and frogs- the better! But for some reason it is the snake pieces we really drool over- maybe it is our inner egyptian cleopatra calling, but we love how snake jewelry manages to look fun and sultry all at once. It also seems history repeats itself. In the Victorian era, snakes symbolized eternity, vitality, and life. This is quite a different than the serpent tempting Eve! Though snakes may be represented as slithering, slimy, and deceitful by today's standards- if you romanticize the meaning behind jewelry symbolism or the history of an animals representation in jewelry- this trend is definitely for you!
