Join the club....
Hi there!
Well, almost time to wave goodbye to April, where does the start of the year go? freezing this week here in NYC so at least we are looking forward to the warmer days of May. This week is busy here at Mink headquarters, the finishing touches are being applied to the brand new collection which will be revealed next week at the NY Circuit show, it's looking mighty fabulous with a ton of gorgeous naturals, rich corals, turquoise and simple clusters, you know, all the good stuff! These 2 pics above are a sneak peek at the new styles from our showroom, a selection of these new styles will be in our own boutique in just a couple of weeks....
If you have checked out our re-vamped website you will notice there is now a Member's Room, members receive a weekly email with some pretty amazing deals, last week it was a whopping 30% off...so yes being a member sure has it's perks! If you are an existing member please feel free to invite a friend using your log in details, we will take 15% off your next order with each invite! This weekend members will be able to view a necklace sample sale, here are two such examples above...to inquire about becoming a member please email Amy at retail@wendyminkjewelry.com.
It probably won't have escaped your notice that Mother's day is coming up, we have lovely gift certificates available for this occasion, take the worry out of choosing what to buy! To purchase a gift certificate just email us on: retail@wendyminkjewelry with amount desired and shipping details, we'll send it right on! To win this gift certificate above (to the tune of $5o) just comment below on what style online you think your mother would love, don't forget to include your email address so we can contact the winner!
Also featured in the members area is a range of vintage jewels, we know sometimes vintage pieces can be a more 'adventurous' choice, it's difficult to know if the piece will work with what you have in your closet and if you are not used to buying vintage it can be daunting! We suggest starting with a simple style, maybe a costume gold layering chain, 50's chain link bracelet or a pretty pin that you can just pop on a favorite cardy or shirt. In our boutique we sell a whole range of vintage and many of the ladies who shop this collection have a good idea of the era they love. Are you a bauble statement lady of the 60's or an understated delicate Victorian type of shopper.....if you are just starting to dip your foot into vintage jewels start simple then build up to a fabulous statement piece that you'll get a ton of comments on! The wonderful thing about vintage is that it's one-of-a-kind, it's a pleasure to wear a necklace that isn't sitting beside you on the subway on another neck, plus it's recycled! All good reasons to start adding vintage to your existing jewelry collection, below are a selection of styles from our member's room, if you are interested in any of the vintage currently online but would like to see the piece 'on' a real person then don't hesitate to email us and we can send you an image, we're real girls here at WMJ and we wear a ton of jewelry, both vintage and of course the current WMJ line!

Messing about...
Carved White Bird Drops
Hello there!
If you are reading this and you were born before, let's say the 80's, you will remember a time when celebrities were not on the cover of magazines, back then it was all about models and the clothes! These days it's all about the celebrity, what they wear to the supermarket, who they are dating, what shampoo they use...how many pancakes they eat after yoga....it can all get a little dizzying. We at WMJ have always made great handmade jewelry for every style of women and have not aggressively sought celebrity endorsement, sometimes it happens and we love to send wonderful jewels to TV and film should the opportunity arise. In the past year we've been fortunate to supply a bunch of styles to various shows (The Apprentice, new Adventures of Old Christine, What Not To Wear, Rachel Ray, the Starter Wife...), there's no denying the great fun in seeing shots of the leading ladies wearing WMJ for the cameras! Over the years our number one fan has been the rather charming Debra Messing. From the days of Will & Grace right through to her current projects with Youth Aids in Africa, we have enjoyed a wonderful partnership with Debra involving many fab jewels and exchanges of pictures. In this month's InStyle Debra talks of her love for jewelry and right there in her jewelry box we spy two WMJ styles! For her recent work in Africa we supplied Debra with our Berry African styles, many of which are available right now on our website, here are some of the pieces below from the group, if you have any queries about these styles please email us on: retail@wendyminkjewelry.com. We always love to support charity events when we can and applaud Debra's work with Youth Aids, if you support or work for a charity organization please let us know as we may be able to help in some way, perhaps a silent auction donation, fashion show jewelry, gift bag item....let us know!
This morning we received these great pictures from a local customer, Della Bass, Della is an Australian photographer living here in NYC, she visited our most recent boutique sample sale and snapped up the fabric and chain necklace featured here, Della has a wonderful site (click on her name above, plus a newsy blog which you can view right here! Thanks Della for featuring our necklace in the shoot and we hope to see you again soon in the store!
Well that may be all for this week, a little upcoming news is a Mother's day deal for subscribers and a pretty fabulous once-a-month opportunity for Member's, please email us for Membership details....we hope you enjoy the rest of this week please stay in touch!

A Letter from Lily
Hello Everyone- this week we bring you a wonderful customer Lily Xie! Lily wrote to us recently after we blogged about the diverse customers on our list and that we would love to see and hear from them! Lily has a huge WMJ collection and here is a significant part of her collection below as well as her very interesting personal story! Thanks so much Lily for this great blog post and we hope to see you on Orchard St very very soon (we are all very jealous of your work, it all sounds so interesting!!), if you would like to send images or information about yourself and WMJ then we'd love to see it, please write to retail@wendyminkjewelry.com. Enjoy Lily and her jewels......please note at the bottom of this post we have images of the recent 'Purse Clip' as a necklace! these fun additions can be found in the Current Collection online now...(if any of Lily's styles appeal please write to this same address)
My name is Lily, and I am a senior at Rutgers University, studying evolutionary anthropology. I have a strong interest in forensics and currently intern at the American Museum of Natural History performing skull casts and facial reconstructions of ancient human ancestors (with an emphasis on Neanderthals.) I have spent two summers excavating fossil sites in Kenya and am fascinated by the mystery that is human evolution. I am attracted to cities and the rush of metropolitan life and travel as much as time allows, with Hong Kong being my favorite destination.
While I live in New Jersey, I have been frequenting Chinatown, Soho, and the LES with my mother for as long as I can remember, and i love seeing how the haunts of my childhood have evolved over the years into quaint, chic neighborhoods. I stumbled upon the store during a chance walk down Orchard St. during May of last year, and while I was in a rush at the time, I immediately googled the name upon returning home, thus beginning my love affair with the company. The WM design philosophy perfectly defines my personal sense of style...detail-oriented, dramatic, yet classy, without constantly sacrificing to mainstream trends. I have always loved statement jewelry (hence the colorful, over-sized beaded pieces that dominate my collection), and since it is tricky to wear, I tend to look for high-quality pieces I can use season after season. I often pair a WM necklace with a JCrew blazer and dark denim, as an imposing finishing touch. Thank you, WMJ, for giving me the opportunity to share my collection and for continuing to create such brilliant jewelry!
